I am probably the lowest maintenance hair person in New York City, but for the last month or so I’ve been constantly thinking of ombre hair. It may be (or already is) on it’s way out, but I still love how it looks plus it would be a fun way to do something with my hair without much upkeep – you only have to get it done about twice a year! I think it looks best on brown hair, my hair is a dark, dark brown (on the verge of black). I’m sure I won’t be able to go through with it, I always get too scared of damaging my hair with chemicals but I love how these ladies took the plunge. What do you think – love it or hate it? Would you ever do it?
Here are a few photos from the weekend. The weather ended up being amazing & I had plenty of time to relax. We ended up missing the first train (due to the crazy NYC traffic) but Lilo was thoroughly entertained with bird watching outside Penn Station (top left). I was super nervous about traveling with her (you would think I had an infant), but she meowed a bit then dozed off.
Tim & I ended up catching a sunrise on Saturday (middle left) which was so worth it. Other than that the weekend was full of eating (yummy breakfast sandwiches) & grilling out. I feel so out of it today, but hooray for 4 day work weeks!! Hope yours was fabulous too! xx
It’s here, it’s here!! I’m so excited. Summer Fridays officially start today, so I am heading to the beach! Not sure how the weather will be, but I’m just looking forward to the sea breeze, biking, summer beer & grilling out 🙂 Tim & I will also be taking Lilo with us, so getting there (by train) should be an adventure. Have a good one!

I’m not usually a big fan of hats, but I can’t help but love these hats from The Ampal Creative. I love the mix of fabrics & prints. Perfect for the summer, here is their newest Spring 2012 collection.
Heading to the beach for the holiday weekend? I am. And even though it might not be the best weather, I’m still excited to feel the sand & sea breeze! Here are some essentials that will help you fit right in.
Have you ever heard of paintable wallpaper? I’m kinda obsessed. All the papers are made by Graham & Brown. The wallpapers are textured and can be used alone (white), but if you are looking for a pop – just paint over it. The small squares would look amazing on a wall.
Spotted this video yesterday at Anthology Magazine and it’s so cool, I had to share! I’m dying to try some colored hot glue – found some here. If you are in the Houston area, definitely try to check out Yasuaki Onishi’s exhibit at the Rice Gallery.
I also loved these videographers, Mark & Angela Walley – I spent some time last night checking out a lot of them!
Normally, I am not an ice cream person – but this past weekend I had ice cream 3 times , so I am certainly on a kick 🙂 A few weeks ago, I complained that NY didn’t have enough ice cream shops (it’s true!) and Kelly recommended Van Leeuwen’s Artisan Ice Cream. I finally got a chance to try some Friday and it is amazing! While I was visiting one of the trucks, I tried the Earl Grey and I have not been able to stop thinking about it. This week I have a date with VLAIC, but if you aren’t close to a truck, try this homemade Earl Grey Ice Cream recipe.
