I can’t believe it’s almost 2012! 2011 was filled with a brief long distance relationship
, lots of moving
, and the birth of Favorable Mention! I’ll be heading back home for some belated birthday celebrations and to puppysit Chloe
! I hope you all have amazing new year’s celebrations and I’ll be posting a mini 2011 album soon 🙂

A few shots from Christmas. My gifts this year definitely had a theme – will post some photos early next week! Happy we all have the new year to look forward to because Christmas is really the best time of the year. I’m so sad to see it go!
Just a few more hours of work then I’m home free (with a little scrambling for some last minute gifts!). But have a very Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!! I’ll be heading home to PA for some Christmas festivities with family & friends, can’t wait 🙂
First photo is of our festive apt and the second is Tim walking down the street with the tree (he almost hit two different people)!
This year we threw a Chinese / White Elephant gift exchange
with friends. The spending limit was $15 and it turned out to be a lot of fun! Tim luckily picked the very last number and I picked the 2nd to last number – I swear it was not rigged!. He ended up stealing some Stumptown coffee & a coffee mug and I stole 15 lottery tickets, which won me $27!
Here’s some more examples of the gifts in case you need to throw a gift together last minute (like we all did):
-a bottle of wine
-olive oil & balsamic vinegar
-a Playboy (lol this was the most hated gift)
After seeing Flora Grubb’s
vertical flowers & gardens on Design*Sponge
, I knew I had to purchase a few. I ended up getting the Thigmotrope Satellite Fleet
and I absolutely love them. It puts some life into my room and airplants are perfect for my city dwelling lifestyle.
A shot of my plants on my wall.
I know everyone is in serious “must finish Christmas shopping mode” but this amazing video from Google of 2011 will make you tear up and inspire you for the new year.
There are so many DIY projects on the internet which is perfect for the holidays. Here’s a few of my favorites!
This past weekend we went up to visit Tim’s grandpa, who is 91 & probably one of the funniest people I have ever met. The visit was filled with stories, potato soup, card games & a raid of his closet. Here are some things that he insisted we take home.
